With aim to enhance psychosocial support for conflict-affected students and integrate them into host communities, IYSO implemented the sport competition project , with support by German Agency for Development GIZ and coordinating with education offices in Taiz and Ibb cities.

120 students from 12 secondary schools in Taiz and Ibb governorates participated in this project through sports tournament in football.

This project has had an impact on enhancing social cohesion among the target students and alleviating the psychological stress resulting from their being affected by the conflict ,

In additional, creating new opportunities for positive communication between students and encourage them to making exercise of sports activities even after end this project.

The project also helped revive sports activities in schools after a long period because of current conflict in Yemen.

This project is consider a success story where it has been implemented amidst security challenges, however it achieved the objectives and creating positive social interaction.
